A Custom König Chuck Ended a High Rejection Rate on Indexable Inserts

A cutting-tool manufacturer was scrapping parts on a competitor's purely mechanical clamping device while grinding indexable inserts. Wilhelm König MTM engineered a pneumatically actuated hydro-mechanical chuck with changeable clamping jaws, stops and support rings — restoring concentricity and repeatability, and letting the customer convert it on-site to new insert sizes.

Where does service and repair happen?
Our Albany, Ohio showroom and service center handles device repairs, installation support and spare parts in Ohio. If your König device requires factory service, repairs may be completed in Germany.
Can automation retrofit onto machines I already own?
Yes, in nearly every case automation can be retrofitted to existing machine tools. The best approach depends on the machine's age, CNC control, available interfaces, workholding, part geometry, cycle time, and available floor space.
